Native App · BabyTech · Spain

The method of a certified infant sleep consultant, turned into two fully native apps that build a unique plan for every baby. After 22,500 families and a 4.5★ rating, nights are nights again.

Dormus — Native App · BabyTech · Spain

David Blázquez, an internationally certified infant sleep consultant, was getting babies to sleep one family at a time. His method worked; his calendar didn’t scale. We built the native apps that turn that method into a personalised plan for tens of thousands of families at once — without losing an ounce of rigour.

01 / The challenge

The challenge

The method worked family by family. The problem was simple: there is only one David, and every night there are thousands of babies who won’t sleep. The one-to-one consultations worked so well that they built a waiting list, and all of the expertise lived inside a single head. It had to become software without diluting the method behind it.

No two babies are the same case. Age, naps, feeds, temperament — a generic PDF doesn’t get anyone to sleep. The plan had to be recalculated every day against each family’s real data, not handed out as a fixed schedule.

And the people using it haven’t slept. The app gets opened at 3am, one-handed, with eyes half shut. Every unnecessary tap is a family that gives up. The bar for UX was as high as it gets.

02 / Our approach

Our approach

Sleep apps record data; we wanted Dormus to make decisions. So instead of building another tracker, we built a pocket expert: two native apps — Swift on iOS, Kotlin on Android — around a planning engine that applies the expert method to each baby’s data, every day.

We went fully native on both platforms rather than shipping a hybrid shell. That choice paid for itself in the one place it matters here: an interface smooth and reliable enough to be used in the dark, exhausted, with a baby in the other arm.

The friendly, reassuring look is Dormus. The engineering underneath — the plan logic, the daily recalculation, the two-tap logging — is ours. The method drove every product decision, and we kept David in the loop so the software said exactly what the consultant would.

03 / What we built

What we built

01

Two genuinely native apps

SwiftUI on iOS, Jetpack Compose on Android. The fluidity and finish of a serious app, with no hybrid frameworks and no performance compromises.

02

Plans that recalculate themselves

The engine translates David’s method into a daily plan per baby — sleep windows, naps and routine that adjust with every entry the parent logs.

03

One-handed logging

Bedtimes, wake-ups and feeds in two taps. Designed to be used in the dark, in the middle of the night, with the baby in the other arm.

04

Alerts at the right moment

Notifications carry the exact sleep window, so the routine starts when the baby is biologically ready — not when a generic timetable says so.

05

Certified consultants, one chat away

Certified sleep consultants live inside the app for the cases that need a human. The method is never left on its own.

06

The method, indexed

An infant-sleep wiki covering techniques, regressions and common questions. Actionable answers, even at 3am.

04 / Results

The results

Dormus is in production on the App Store and Google Play, with 50,000 downloads between the two stores and more than 22,500 families now managing their baby’s sleep through the app.

It holds a 4.5★ average across thousands of real reviews — the kind of score a sleep-deprived parent only leaves when something actually worked. Most families see the first signs within two to three days, and reach full nights in under four weeks.

The method went from one consultant’s calendar to tens of thousands of phones, with its rigour intact. The expertise scaled; the families slept.
